A Loomly alternative for client approvals
Loomly is a social media management tool. You plan and schedule posts, run them through approval workflows, publish, reply to comments and report on results, all in one place. It is built for agencies, brands, marketing teams and franchises.
Read this bit first. PostDecks does not schedule or publish anything. It previews posts and collects client approval, and you keep posting however you post today. If you want scheduling and approval in one tool, PostDecks is not it.
What Loomly does better
- It schedules and publishes, with recurring and bulk posts. PostDecks does not.
- It has an engagement inbox, analytics and exportable reports, none of which PostDecks has.
- Approval workflows can ask for two or more approvers, one, or none, and custom workflows add more rules.
- It covers Google Business Profile and Snapchat, sends approval notifications to Slack and Teams, and lets approvers approve in its mobile apps.
Where PostDecks is the better answer
- Your client approves from a link. In Loomly an approver needs a Loomly account, and every one of them, clients included, takes a user seat.
- It is free however many clients approve. Loomly's Starter plan has 3 users in all.
- It previews X, which Loomly does not list among its networks.
- Previewing and exporting need no account at all.
What each one costs
Loomly
Starter at $49 a month billed yearly ($588 a year) or $65 monthly, with 3 users and 12 social accounts. Beyond at $249 a month billed yearly ($2,988 a year) or $332 monthly, with unlimited users and 60 social accounts. Yearly plans cannot be ended early. A free plan, which Loomly says may not be offered to everyone, has 1 user, 3 accounts and 5 posts a month.
PostDecks
PostDecks is free. Previewing and exporting need no account, and client approval links come with a free one.
Loomly pricing checked on from their own pricing page. Prices change, so confirm with them before you decide anything on the strength of a number here.
So which one
Buy Loomly if
you want one tool to plan, publish, reply and report, and your clients are happy to log in to approve. Loomly does all of that, and PostDecks only does the approval.
Use PostDecks if
your clients will not make an account just to approve a post, or you would rather not pay a seat for each of them. PostDecks gives them a link to open and approve instead.
Questions
- Does a client need a Loomly account to approve a post?
- Yes. Loomly's help centre says invited collaborators need to create an account, and its pricing counts a client who only approves posts as a user. A PostDecks client opens a link and approves, with no account.
- Is PostDecks a replacement for Loomly?
- Not if you publish, reply or report from Loomly. It replaces the approval step only, and works alongside whatever you publish with.
- How does the pricing compare?
- Loomly starts at $49 a month billed yearly for 3 users, and each client who approves uses one of them. PostDecks is free. Previewing and exporting need no account, and client approval links come with a free one. Loomly's price also buys scheduling, publishing, an inbox and analytics, which PostDecks does not do.
PostDecks is free, and previewing needs no account. Try it against a real post and see whether it covers what you need.
