PostDecks for Websites

A Mac app for website before and after captures.

PostDecks for Websites

Capture every page of a website. Before and after.

A Mac app that reads a site's sitemap and screenshots every page at desktop and mobile sizes, with filenames that line up run to run. The clean record of the old site you always wish you had kept.

One run, the whole site

01

Paste a site

It finds the sitemap through robots.txt, discovers every page, and groups them by type: pages, products, categories, blog posts.

02

Pick your pages

Untick whole sections, keep one blog post as a template instead of hundreds, and see password-protected pages flagged upfront so you can skip them.

03

Get the record

Full-page screenshots of every page at desktop and mobile sizes, a contact-sheet gallery, optional page copy as Markdown, and one ZIP of the lot.

Before and after that lines up

Filenames come straight from each page's URL, so the same page keeps the same name in every run. Capture once before the redesign and once after, and the two folders compare page by page, file by file.

Coming soon: Before and after folders, side by side

It handles the messy web

Cookie banners are clicked, not just hidden, which also loads the maps and videos they gate. Lazy images are forced to load, animations are frozen so runs stay comparable, failed pages retry on their own, and login walls are flagged instead of screenshotted.

Coming soon: A capture run in progress

More than screenshots

Export every page's copy as Markdown for a content inventory, and download the full URL list grouped by type. When you replatform a site, that list is your redirect map.

Coming soon: Markdown copy export and URL inventory

Runs entirely on your Mac

Nothing is uploaded anywhere. Client sites, staging sites behind basic auth, unreleased work: it all stays on your machine, in tidy folders you control.

Coming soon: The gallery view on a Mac

One payment. No subscription.

Redesign work comes in bursts, so a monthly fee never felt right. Try it free on a real site, and pay once when it earns its keep.

Frequently asked questions

Why is this a Mac app and not a web tool?
Capturing other websites needs a real browser engine fetching and rendering other origins, which a web page is not allowed to do. The app bundles its own browser and does the heavy work locally. That is also why nothing needs to be uploaded.
Is my client's site uploaded anywhere?
No. The app runs on your Mac and saves everything to local folders. There is no server and no account.
What does the free version include?
200 pages a month, enough to capture a real site or two end to end, with a counter in the app showing where you stand. One payment unlocks unlimited pages plus the Markdown copy export, and it is yours for good. No subscription.
Does it work on staging sites?
Yes. Enter HTTP basic auth credentials and it uses them for both reading the sitemap and capturing the pages.
Which Macs does it run on?
Apple silicon Macs (M1 or later) running a recent version of macOS.
How does this relate to PostDecks?
Same job, bigger canvas. PostDecks turns social posts into decks a client can approve. PostDecks for Websites does it for whole sites: every page captured into one record you can hand over for sign-off.
